Here at Town & Country Veterinary Hospital, we are fortunate to have an entire team of knowledgeable and compassionate staff members dedicated to providing quality care to animals and providing proven products and resources for pet owners.
Dr. Elise Prince
Veterinarian
Dr. Elise Prince was born in Knoxville, TN, but moved to Colorado when she was 12, after her family bought a dude ranch. She went to Queens University of Charlotte, where she played college basketball and earned a bachelor’s in nursing. She worked as an emergency room nurse for five years before pursuing veterinary medicine. Dr. Elise Prince went to Mississippi State University for veterinary school. She graduated in 2015 and then joined her uncle, Dr. Harry Prince, here at Town and Country Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Elise Prince enjoys all types of surgery, along with preventative and internal medicine, but most of all, she enjoys developing relationships with her clients and their amazing animals.
Dr. Makenzie McCord
Veterinarian
Dr. Makenzie McCord is originally from Winchester, TN. She received her bachelor’s in Animal Science in 2014 and her DVM in 2018, both from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Her professional interests include pain management and preventative medicine. Dr. McCord is also a veterinary acupuncturist. She completed her training at Chi University in Reddick, Florida in 2020. She enjoys improving all pets’ quality of life with an integrative approach!
Outside of work, Dr. McCord enjoys going out on Tim’s Ford Lake and wake surfing, reading, and spending time with her friends and family. She and her husband, Davis, live in Tullahoma with their 2 basset hounds named Hattie and Franklin and 1 mischievous cat named Georgia.
Dr. Angela Hawkins
Veterinarian
Dr. Hawkins is from South Pittsburg, Tennessee. She received her bachelor’s in Animal Science from the University of Tennessee in 2005 and her DVM from Mississippi State in 2011. She met her husband, Aaron, while in vet school and they moved to Pelham where they live with their two boys, Dean and Charlie, their cat named Sweetie Pie, 2 chihuahuas named Rico Suave and Ruby Sheila, and several beloved chickens.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Hawkins enjoys spending time with family, cooking, and attending all of her children’s sporting events as well as Tennessee football games. She is so excited to join the team and start developing relationships with our clients and their pets.
Brandie
Brandie has been at Town and Country Veterinary Hospital for over five years and loves her job. You see her smiling face at the front desk, but she has done almost every position over the years at Town and Country Veterinary Hospital. Brandie lives in Winchester with her husband, Dave, their son Nicholas, and all their pets. They have three dogs and three cats.
Brandie loves to spend time with her family, doing homework, cooking, playing with all the animals, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time at the lake in the summer. Brandie always has a smile and is eager to help anyone she can. She is proud to be part of the Town and Country family.
Whitney
Whitney Spence, previously McLaughlin, has been here with us since she graduated high school in 2011. She’s currently finishing her veterinary technician degree to be our very own licensed veterinary technician! She loves spending time out working with her cows or with her horses trail riding, riding in her arena at home, or barrel racing at the local and state level. She hopes to compete in the NBHA world championships in the next few years. She currently has 2 horses named Fancy and Wasabi. She also has 2 cats and 3 dogs : Gus who is a tripod cat, Peeves a stray cat she found on the side of the road, Rooster a pocket pitty, Remington a miniature Australian shepherd, and Lily a blue heeler.
Lee
Lee has been working at Town and Country Veterinary Hospital since 2002. He has one cat named Logan. Lee has always loved animals, especially reptiles. When asked about his work at Town and Country Veterinary Hospital, Lee said, “I’m blessed to have a job that lets me do what I love.” In his spare time, Lee enjoys learning about the Civil War.
Taylor
Taylor was born and raised in Franklin County. Her children are her absolute world. She has a pit bull named Mayhem and a leopard gecko named Goat. She likes to spend most of her free time with family and friends. She loves spending time outdoors and shooting pool. From a young age she always loved animals from dogs, to reptiles, to horses. She knew she wanted to be able to help animals when she grew up. And now she is fulfilling that by working at Town and Country Veterinary Hospital.
Kristin
Kristin is the dedicated practice manager at Town and Country Veterinary Hospital, where she has served since August 2023. Raised in Middle Tennessee, she now resides in Murfreesboro with her fiancé, three children, and their spirited cat, Dobby. With a lifelong passion for animals, Kristin has fulfilled her childhood dream of helping them through her work in the veterinary field. Outside the clinic, she enjoys cheering for her oldest at soccer games, taking care of her twins, hiking, or immersing herself in a captivating fantasy novel.
Madasyn
Madasyn was born and raised in coffee county. She has multiple chickens, cats, and loves spending her free time in the woods. She is currently enrolled in the Penn Foster program to become a Licensed Veterinary technician. Her passion for animals started from a young age. Since being employed here at town and country her passion and her drive to help as many animals as she can has blossomed. She’s looking forward to being here to love and care for your pets for years to come.
Lisa
Lisa is passionate about animals and is proud to work in a veterinary office where she gets to care for and support the health and happiness of pets every day. With a deep love for animals and a commitment to their well-being, she thrives in an environment where compassion, patience, and teamwork are essential. Whether comforting a nervous pup or assisting with treatments, she is dedicated to making every visit a positive experience for both pets and their people.
Abbie
Graduating as a student-athlete from Young Harris College in 2025 with a B.S. in Biology, Abbie joined our team with a passion for animal wellbeing and understanding what makes them tick. She lives in Normandy, TN on 13 acres with six Great Pyrenees/Labrador mixes(Joey, Izzy, Lucy, Piper, Sadie, and Freckles) and spends her free time taking care of them, while pursuing veterinarian school.
Elizabeth
Elizabeth was born and raised in Nashville, TN. An avid nature and animal lover, she left the city and moved to Winchester with her partner to work his family’s cattle farm. Early on she had a natural bond with animals. Partaking in equestrian programs through Girl Scouts, rescuing a stray cat from a sewer drain in high school, adopting a pit bull in college, and now raising a litter of kittens on her farm. In her free time, you’ll find Liz tending her vegetable garden, wading in a creek, making jewelry, or foraging medicinal herbs.
Charity
I’m Charity, and I’m proud to work at a veterinary hospital where I get to care for animals every day. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, which has given me a strong foundation in science and a deeper understanding of animal health and wellness. I have always loved animals, and I believe pets are truly family, deserving of compassion, patience, and quality care. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and stepson and embracing the sweet, busy life we are building together.
Haley
Hi, my name’s Haley! I’m originally from Colorado but recently moved down to Tennessee. I’ve always had a passion for animals. When I’m not at work, you’ll find me driving around just exploring the new state, playing video games, or hanging out with my pitbull.
Stephanie
Growing up, Stephanie always knew she wanted to work with animals. Starting in 2006, she was a bather, then a kennel tech, then a vet assistant, and then a groomer. After grooming pets for about 10 years, she is back to working as an assistant again, and has been doing so since 2022. She is currently studying to earn her Technician license. She enjoys taking care of your pets and helping them to feel better.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading and creating resin art or any other craft! She is also active in her church and loves to help with the children’s classes. She and her husband have three daughters that share their love for animals. They have two dogs, Bella and Coal. They also have two cats named Princess and Sofia.
Tyra Morrison – Remote Communications Specialist
I spent 11 years at a 24 hour Veterinary ER working the night shift. I was a CSR answering a multi line phone system taking vital information from new and returning clients with compassion and efficiency.
I love collecting pens, magnets and coffee cups. I love sitting around campfires, cooking easy meals with my family and going to festivals.
I have 3 four legged family members. Shadow is a 7 year old black lab mix. Ruth is a 2 year old hound mix and Mandela is my 13 year old black panther cat.
